A PFP, Designed For Twitter X
X is the heart of the NFT community. It’s where people meet, exchange ideas, and establish connections. Given its significance, we designed Ninjas with the primary goal of looking distinctive, clean, and awesome on X. To achieve this, it was imperative that their aesthetic appeal remained consistent, whether viewed at full size or condensed to a mere 40x40 pixels—the size presented on the web timeline. With this in mind, we intentionally crafted Ninjas with crisp lines and reduced details, ensuring they're vibrant and recognizable even at minimal sizes.
If the heart of the Web3 community beats at X, the pulse of its activity can be felt in Spaces. Here, pivotal debates are held and crucial issues confronted by the industry’s most influential people. What truly sets Spaces apart is its spontaneity: one click connects you with individuals capable of elevating your business or career trajectory. In fact, you can achieve more in one week on Spaces than months of Zoom calls. It’s with this appreciation that we painstakingly crafted Ninjas to be the ultimate PFPs for Spaces.
How have we achieved this? We designed Ninjas not only to be memorable and distinctive but also to radiate a collective energy when in the company of other Ninjas. From the moment you request to speak or join the Spaces stage, your Ninja’s vibrant hues command attention. Similarly, spotting fellow Ninjas, be it in the audience or on stage with you, creates a magnetic presence. It evokes a sense of camaraderie, akin to the warm familiarity of encountering a trusted friend in an unfamiliar gathering.
And that’s not all, when designing Ninjas we even meticulously accounted for emojis and raised hands. You'll notice the Ninjas' heads are positioned slightly lower than typical PFPs, and head traits lean to the left. This adjustment provides ample space for emotive expressions, and ensures the full character and personality of your Ninja is always on display. It not only helps others remember you, but also earns you a reputation for good manners, because everyone knows your Ninja respects the hands—by design.
A PFP That Commands Attention, But Always Respects The Hands
Spaces serves as the dynamic hub of the Web3 community, hosting vital debates and connections with the industry's key players. To enhance this experience, Ninjas have been designed as the ultimate Profile Pictures (PFPs) for Spaces, standing out not just for their distinctive design but also for creating a sense of community among Ninja users. With eye-catching colors, these PFPs are built to capture attention and build camaraderie. Unique design elements, such as lowered head position and traits leaning to the left, make room for emotive expressions and signals like raised hands, thus emphasizing not just the character of the individual Ninja but also subtly promoting good etiquette in the digital environment.
An Orange PFP For Ordinals Enjoyoors.
For Ordinals, the orange backdrop isn't just a color—it's a symbol of unity connecting the Ordinals community beyond the confines of any one project. Sporting a PFP with an orange background is a declaration: “I like Bitcoin and Ordinals.” It signifies an individual who possesses an open mind yet approaches matters critically. Someone capable of looking beyond established dogmas and tribal divides. A person who embraces fun and innovation, but also respects the lessons history imparts. Someone who recognizes Bitcoin isn't merely a "boomer chain" but is, in truth, whatever we choose to make it. As we embarked on making the Ninjas project, we felt committed to upholding this iconic orange, even if it meant intensifying the challenge of ensuring each PFP remained diverse and distinctive.
A Special Bounce For Discord
While Ninjas were primarily crafted to make a splash on X, we couldn't resist adding an extra touch for Discord. Discord serves dual roles; it's a hub for various communities and also offers a more intimate setting for deeper conversations. That's why each Ninja comes complete with an animated GIF inscribed on the same Ordinal. Use this GIF as your Discord PFP to enliven your chat and voice call interactions. Your Ninja will animate whenever you speak on a call and also when someone hovers their cursor over your messages. This engaging touch is sure to surprise and delight your friends, all while elevating your reputation for impeccable taste.
A Simple Yet Diverse Collection, Designed With 5 Principles
Crafting a generative art collection that strikes a balance between simplicity and variety is no small feat. To achieve this, we decided to keep our collection size small. At 1,500 items, it’s not only mathematically easier to ensure each PFP stands out, but it also provides us the chance to inspect each PFP for quality control. In addition, we spent days looking at thousands of PFPs, asking ourselves "How will we remember this PFP and differentiate it from all the others?" This introspection led us to establish five core design principles which form the cornerstone of our creative choices.
1. Make every PFP simple, consistent, and unique.
2. Differentiate through eyes and head accessories.
3. Go a little extra, but only if it slaps.
4. Combine colors carefully and intentionally.
5. Pay homage to Web3 culture, nostalgia, and Ordinals.
A PFP That Uses Color Theory Science
You won’t find another project with more mathematically correct colors. This is because Ninjalerts tapped it’s co-founder and in-house color scientist, Max Savin. Max founded and built ColorSchemer. Suffice to say, an obsession with color theory is a pre-requisite to create software the mathematically creates colors based on all known spectrums and algorithms.
12 Mathematically Perfect Colors
To pick the perfect palette, we started with the Ninjalerts brand yellow #ffd400, a PANTONE® compatible yellow. PANTONE® is the color system used around the world by printers and designers to get exact matches and control colors for printing projects. This allows us to make sure Ninjalerts yellow looks the same across all platforms, digital and physical.
From there, we used 12 analogous colors based on HSL to get the perfect matching orange #ff5400 to match Ninjalerts yellow. This orange is used for the background color and other branding for Ninjalerts related to Ordinals. Now, with orange as the dominant color used in the PFP, we used it to anchor the rest of the color palette. For the rest of the primary colors, we used 12 analogous based on orange, but this time with HCL. We chose HCL because it results in colors that more closely match in brightness and tone. All other colors used in the collection are monochromes of these HCL analogous 12 colors.

Every Ninja is licensed to its holder under the Can’t Be Evil License, specifically CBE-Commercial. This is a set of licenses designed by some of the foremost IP experts in the Web3 space specifically for non-fungible tokens. While many projects omit licenses altogether, or draft licenses that create more ambiguity than they resolve, our license grants you a baseline of rights that are irrevocable, enforceable, and easy to understand. Now, the community can unleash the creative and economic potential of their Ordinals with a clear understanding of the IP framework in which they can work.
A PFP With IP Rights That Can’t Be Evil
Full Commercial Rights, Irrevocable, Supports Derivatives and Sublicensing
Your Ordinal is your Ordinal. Want to start a business or launch a product that uses your Ninja? You have the full commercial right to do so. In addition, The Can’t Be Evil license is irrevocable, meaning we can’t swap this license for a more restrictive one in the future. It allows for modifications, adaptations, and derivatives. It even allows for sublicensing, meaning, you could license your Ninja to a film studio or another visual artist to make new works based upon it.
A Digital Artifact You Truly Own
A physical artifact, like a rare gold coin from ancient times, has unique characteristics: it has a single owner (you), is complete (self-contained), and can be changed only by you. Similarly, for a digital item to be a "digital artifact," it must be 100% owned by you, permissionless, uncensorable, and complete. For instance, an NFT pointing to external content, or one where the smart contract can control or modify the NFT, is not a true digital artifact. Unfortunately, this is the case for many if not most NFTs. They don’t host their artwork on the blockchain, but on another network called IPFS, making them incomplete. Their smart contracts allow the developer to restrict how you can transfer or sell your NFT, and they can change your NFT at any time. But not on Bitcoin, not on Ordinals. Ordinals artwork can not be changed by the developer. How or to whom you choose to sell it can’t be restricted. You own it. And the artwork is stored on Bitcoin, the largest, most durable, and decentralized network in existence. You never have to worry about another network and can leave your mind at ease knowing your asset has the highest chance of standing the test of time.
